Summary

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer / ServiceNow Developer to support the development and modernization of enterprise human capital management technologies and services. The program supports workforce initiatives across areas such as learning and training, compliance, foreign language development, talent retention, job advertisements, candidate selection, and performance management.

What will you do?

  • Support the implementation of customer objectives and priorities within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog management, testing, and software implementation.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and document application code following industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between applications, databases, web services, and APIs.
  • Develop and maintain database and cloud-service components supporting enterprise applications.
  • Support the implementation and documentation of the organization's ServiceNow reference architecture.
  • Analyze existing web applications, systems, services, interfaces, and databases to support modernization and future development decisions.
  • Recommend technical solutions that improve UX/UI, application quality, delivery speed, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct unit, functional, and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop and maintain reporting capabilities using web-based databases and enterprise applications.
  • Apply established accessibility standards and industry best practices throughout application development.
  • Support application security, certification, accreditation, and other development requirements.
  • Manage source code and application changes using version control tools such as GitHub or Subversion.
  • Track requirements, development activities, issues, and sprint progress using JIRA.
  • Support Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 application support activities using service management platforms.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, digital IT workflows, knowledge-base articles, deployment checklists, architectural diagrams, system security plans, and administrative processes.
  • Maintain application and system documentation in accordance with established document storage and version-control requirements.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Typically requires BS degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience developing ServiceNow applications.
  • Experience implementing technical solutions in accordance with established accessibility standards.
  • Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
  • Hands-on experience using JIRA.
  • Experience recommending and implementing technical solutions that:
    • Improve user experience and user interface (UX/UI).
    • Reduce operations and maintenance requirements.
    • Improve application quality and speed of delivery.
    • Modernize web-based applications, systems, services, and components.
  • Experience analyzing and documenting web-based applications, systems, services, databases, APIs, and interfaces.
  • Experience interfacing with web-based databases and developing or supporting reporting capabilities.
  • Experience using version control technologies such as GitHub or Subversion.
  • Experience managing or supporting Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 technical support through service management systems.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, including:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • IT workflows
    • Knowledge-base documentation
    • Pre- and post-deployment checklists
    • IT architecture diagrams
    • System Security Plans
    • Administrative procedures
  • Experience working with compliance and/or performance management applications.
