We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager with a hands-on approach to systems, data, and architecture using Java and a wide range of technologies. As a Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day to day development and customization of application systems and processes. Leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills, you will guide the team in optimizing application efficiency, data workflows, ensuring data integrity, and driving innovative application solutions. This role is preferred to sit one day onsite a week in Minneapolis, but it can also be 100% remote out of these states: WI, IL, MS, NY, GA, CA, VA, and ID

responsibilities:
Lead a development team in designing, customizing, and optimizing scalable Java-based applications such as Salesforce, Netsuite, UKG, PowerBI, Concur, Sharepoint, and more.
Provide guidance, direction, and support to technical team members as well as work independently on development initiatives.
Set clear expectations, delegate tasks effectively, and enable team members to deliver solutions.
Cultivate and maintain strong vendor relationships through regular communication, collaboration, and analysis in order to understand application usability and functionality.
Possess a broad range of hands-on knowledge in corporate data systems, enterprise software, and application architecture within Java and AWS environments
Debug code to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the stability, functionality, and security of applications prior to deployment
Enable the data engineering team in the deployment of data solutions, road maps, and models.
Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategic objectives for technical teams
Set measurable goals and milestones aligned with organizational priorities.
Evaluate progress regularly and adjust strategies as needed to ensure alignment with overarching business objectives.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Identify training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.
Identify and address challenges and obstacles proactively.
Communicate effectively with team members, peers, and upper management to ensure clarity and alignment.
Act as a liaison between technical teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders.
qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Must sit in MN,WI, IL, MS, NY, GA, CA, VA, or ID
5+ years in a leadership role with direct reports
