Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. As a Quality Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and developers to define acceptance criteria, test strategies, and automation requirements
Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks for unit, integration, API, UI, and end-to-end testing
Contribute to the development and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated testing is integrated and scalable
Support environmental smoke testing
Promote and support test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and shift-left testing practices
Define, monitor, and report on test coverage, defect metrics, and system reliability
Develop and execute performance, load, and security tests as needed
Ensure test strategies align with cloud-native design principles, including microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and containerized environments
Partner with QA and DevOps teams to improve test execution speed, reliability, and reporting across environments
Identify and address risks, gaps, and dependencies related to testing and quality assurance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Quality Engineer, or similar role
Strong programming skills in one or more languages (C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python)
Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, NUnit, xUnit)
Proficiency in API testing and familiarity with microservices and event-driven systems
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
Experience testing applications deployed on cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6)
Familiarity with contract testing (e.g., Pact)
Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK)
Background in regulated industries such as healthcare and/or government
Understanding of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure as code
The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $155,000 or the hourly equivalent.
