Description AI-Driven Software Developer (Remote: 6 Month Contract) Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6 Month Contract (Strong Potential for Permanent Hire Conversion)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Days: Monday through Friday (EST)
Payrate: $55- $65 Hourly
What You Will Be Working OnYou will take ownership of existing internally developed applications that are approximately 80 to 90 percent complete and elevate them to production-quality solutions that are secure, scalable, and ready for broad organizational use.
Key Responsibilities- Own and drive AI-assisted software development initiatives
- Take over day-to-day development work from executive IT leadership
- Refactor, stabilize, and harden early-stage or AI-generated code
- Ensure applications meet security, performance, and maintainability standards
- Deploy completed solutions to end users and executive stakeholders
- Align development work with a structured, evolving SDLC
- Partner with leadership to clearly demonstrate value and ROI from internal development
- Help establish a scalable foundation for future development investment
Technology EnvironmentCurrent tools and technologies include:
- React
- Node.js and Express
- Vanilla JavaScript
- SQL (Supabase)
- DigitalOcean infrastructure
The organization is not rigid on stack. Candidates are encouraged to refactor or migrate AI-generated code into platforms or languages where they can produce the strongest, most maintainable solutions. Experience with production-grade development matters more than loyalty to any one technology. Requirements Ideal Candidate Profile- Strong, hands-on software developer with end-to-end ownership experience
- Comfortable working directly with senior IT leadership
- Experienced refining and productionizing early-stage applications
- Open to and supportive of AI-assisted development workflows
- Able to balance traditional development discipline with modern AI acceleration
- Comfortable being the initial and primary developer in a growing program
Your Background Likely Includes- Demonstrated experience building and delivering real-world applications
- Experience polishing, refactoring, or completing partially built solutions
- Hands-on use of AI coding tools to accelerate development while maintaining quality
- Ability to explain architectural decisions and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
