Warehouse Associate (1st Shift) (Onsite)

Please note that this is a 3 Month Contract position and is Onsite. 

Please Note the Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7AM to 3:30PM. Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         High School Diploma required

·         Basic Computer and math skills

·         Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and able to lift 50 lbs

·         Previous distribution experience is required

·         Previous experience in cold chain environment a plus

·         Maintain regular attendance.

·         Willing to work Overtime with little or same day notice.

·         Close Visual Acuity (visual inspection for small defects or parts, extensive reading or analyzing data

·         Intermediate Visual Acuity(operating machines, computer terminal or work at or within arm's reach)

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

·         Extreme cold: Temperature below: -24 Degrees

·         Biological Hazards (including blood or blood products

·         Working around moving machinery

·         Protective equipment required: Gloves, safety shoes, cold weather gear, body harness and safety vest.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Warehouse Associate performs various warehouse activities to ensure the full and efficient operation of the Distribution Center such as receiving, sorting, stacking, picking, packing, and shipping of orders. The candidate will be required to be licensed on PIT equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

·         Use forklift to unload, load, break down freight, receive and stock.

·         Use a RF scanner to pick orders as well as a computer to audit orders.

·         Verify products for correct item, correct lot and correct quality and ensure damages are identified.

·         Operate the use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; ensure daily routine inspections are conducted. Report any unsafe conditions.

·         Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures.

·         Performing housekeeping in assigned areas and following all safety rules.

·         Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

General Physical Demands:

·         Medium to Heavy lifting and carrying items

·         Sitting, Walking, Standing, kneeling, pushing and pulling

·         Bending at the waist and neck (forward or sideways), reaching

·         Repetitive movement of hands, and power grasping

·         Balancing (maintaining equilibrium to prevent falling)

 INTERACTIONS:

Interacts daily with the Packaging Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, and other Packaging Specialists in identifying work schedule and activities. Interacts with QC for Line Clearances.
