For this contractor assignment, seeking a Master Scheduler to lead the scheduling function typically performed within a PPA role. This position requires a strong blend of Microsoft Project expertise, strategic planning, risk management, communication and leadership. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain reliable, high-quality schedules that support informed decision-making and give the organization confidence in project delivery.

responsibilities:
- - Expert-level in Microsoft Project, with the ability to build accurate schedules using proper task relationships, dependencies, and milestones while maintaining critical path integrity. Skilled in baselines, variance analysis, resource loading, and capacity planning, with a strong understanding of how to manage constraints appropriately and avoid unnecessary date restrictions. Also experienced in creating customized views, reports, and dashboards, and in performing regular schedule maintenance and quality reviews.
- - Demonstrates schedule management excellence by creating realistic, executable schedules, identifying risks early, and ensuring schedules accurately reflect actual progress. Maintains reliable remaining work and duration estimates, anticipates downstream impacts before making changes, balances project, program, and portfolio dependencies, and uses data to forecast outcomes and completion dates.
- - Demonstrates strategic thinking by understanding how individual project schedules support broader portfolio goals, recognizing interdependencies across teams and programs, and evaluating multiple scheduling scenarios. Make informed recommendations when timelines are at risk and on aligning schedules with governance and reporting requirements.
- - Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills by quickly identifying schedule conflicts, resolving resource contention issues, troubleshooting inaccurate task sequencing, and finding practical solutions when plans change. Uses schedule analysis to support informed decision-making and recommends effective actions to keep plans on track.
- - Demonstrates strong communication and leadership by explaining complex schedules in simple language, influencing project managers and stakeholders through data, and facilitating schedule reviews and planning sessions.
qualifications:
- A minimum of 8 years of related work experience in an IT analyst, IT project planning/scheduling role, or some combination of the two.
- {OR} Bachelor's Degree or higher in a business or IT discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Business Management) and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in an IT analyst, IT project planning/scheduling role, or some combination of the two.
