POS Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled POS (Point of Sale) Developer with strong expertise in Pro*C, Oracle, and SQL to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting POS applications, database components, and backend integrations. The candidate should have experience working in Oracle-based environments and possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance POS applications using Pro*C.
• Develop and optimize Oracle database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, packages, and triggers.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries.
• Analyze business requirements and provide technical solutions for POS-related applications.
• Support production systems by investigating and resolving application and database issues.
• Perform unit testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA teams, and production support teams.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation for development and support activities.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Pro*C development.
• Expertise in Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or above).
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with POS (Point of Sale) applications or retail systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience in debugging and resolving production issues.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting is a plus.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Pro*C, Oracle, and SQL development.
• Experience in retail, POS, or transaction processing systems is an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of PL/SQL packages, functions, and triggers.
• Experience with batch processing and data migration.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git or SVN.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
