Our direct client is seeking a hands-on Senior Developer to lead and modernize a suite of internally built applications. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in owning systems end-to-end, enjoys working in a stable environment, and values meaningful impact over constant churn. This role will be hybrid in one of their NYC offices.
You will take full ownership of a custom application ecosystem, driving modernization, improving system efficiency, and serving as the technical authority across multiple business-critical platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage a portfolio of 5–6 internally developed applications, ensuring performance, stability, and scalability
Lead enhancements and modernization efforts for core systems, including intake and training platforms
Support and maintain internal business applications, including HR-related systems
Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors on BI/reporting initiatives
Act as a technical SME, reviewing and challenging vendor deliverables at the code level
Oversee application environments within AWS, including production and UAT configurations
Manage deployments, access control, and system integrations across environments
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed (minimal after-hours expectations)
Technical Requirements
Extensive experience in full-stack or backend development within custom application environments
Strong proficiency in:
Hands-on experience with:
AWS infrastructure (UAT vs. Production environments)
Application deployment and environment configuration
Server relationships and access control models
Experience with Power BI / Microsoft Power Platform
Ability to quickly learn and navigate new languages and codebases (e.g., PHP, C#)

- The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $128,000.
