Job Description Everforth ECS is seeking an
Aircraft Avionics /Electric Technician to work in
Lakeland, FL.
The Aircraft Avionics/Electric Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of the avionics and electrical systems aboard the WP-3D aircraft and the Gulfstream GIV aircraft assigned to the NOAA, Aircraft Operations Center. The technician will operate, troubleshoot, test, repair, service, update, and remove and replace components on the various navigation and communication systems to include; radars, sensors, radios, navigation, autopilot, collision avoidances, and other systems.
In addition, perform electrical system maintenance for the airframe, engines, and auxiliary power unit. The technician will properly document work activity in the maintenance digital database and conduct trend analysis as needed to resolve issues.
Salary Range: $34.00 -$38.00
Required Skills - Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on avionics and communication equipment. Troubleshoot discrepancies to resolve discrepancies.
- Reads and interprets aircraft electrical schematics, maintenance repair manuals, component mechanical engineering drawings, and other engineering and production documents.
- Uses various pieces of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters and time domain reflectometers to maintain aircraft RF cabling. Uses multi-meters to measure wiring resistance, voltage, current and status of electronic components such as diodes and resistors. Performs wiring and electronic systems maintenance using aircraft splicing, terminating, and soldering equipment.
- Uses pitot static test equipment to check and verify serviceability of altimeters, and air speed indication systems. Performs repairs and calibrations of fuel quantity indicating systems using capacitance type fuel quantity test equipment.
- Uses common and peculiar test equipment to check, and calibrate engine instrumentation such as Turbine Inlet Temperature, RPM, and fuel flow indicating systems.
- Knowledge of various navigation instrument systems such as TACAN, VOR/ILS, ADF, INS, and GPS to check and ascertain serviceability of assigned navigation systems.
- Uses personal computers and peculiar interface software to troubleshoot, reconfigure, and verify serviceability of intercommunication systems as well as other systems such as the digital autopilot system.
- Maintains all aircraft communication systems to include VHF, HF, and UHF radio systems as well as the installed Satellite Communications system and interface devices.
Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally sedentary at a desk.
- The position requires walking or standing for extended periods of time.
- Employee may be required to move, carry, push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires that the employee travel approximately 20% of the time. While on travel, the employee may conduct physical labor that requires bending/stooping and work outside in the elements.
Work Environment - Job is performed in a hangar setting with large aircraft and equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is generally medium with consistent background noise.
- Bending/stooping is often required.
- Work is occasionally outside in hot and cold temperatures.
Desired Skills - Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Must be able to muli-task.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Adheres to all safety and security policies and regulations, demonstrates quality work that is accurate, thorough and efficient.
- Airframe and Powerplant license required.
