Role Overview

Experienced .NET Developer specializing in healthcare interoperability with strong expertise in HL7 FHIR (R4/R5) standards. Proven ability to design, develop, and integrate secure, scalable healthcare applications and APIs that support clinical, administrative, and payer workflows while ensuring HIPAA compliance.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain .NET Core / .NET 6+ applications and ASP.NET Web APIs for healthcare systems
  • Implement and manage FHIR R4/R5 resources including Patient, Encounter, Observation, Practitioner, Condition, and Coverage
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs for integration with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and external partners
  • Work with HL7 standards (FHIR, HL7 v2) and healthcare data formats (JSON, XML)
  • Implement OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect / SMART on FHIR for secure data access
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, security, and healthcare data privacy regulations
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD pipeline support
  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Participate in system architecture, design discussions, and technical documentation



Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in C#, .NET Core, .NET 6+, ASP.NET Web API
  • Hands-on expertise with FHIR implementations (R4 preferred)
  • Deep understanding of core FHIR resources and profiles
  • RESTful services, API design, and healthcare integration patterns
  • OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and token-based authentication
  • SQL Server and/or NoSQL databases
  • Data transformations using JSON and XML
  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud services
  • Version control and automation using Git, CI/CD, Azure DevOps

Healthcare Domain Expertise

  • Solid understanding of US Healthcare workflows:
    • Provider
    • Payer
    • Claims
    • Clinical data exchange
  • Exposure to CMS processes, Grievances, and regulatory reporting
  • Knowledge of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) concepts
  • Experience with EHR integrations (Epic, Cerner) - preferred
  • Exposure to SMART on FHIR applications - preferred
