Inside Plant Technician - Core Network / Headend WorkNew York Metro (NYC / NJ / Long Island)

Must Have (Non-Negotiable)- Hands-on experience working inside headends, hubs, or central offices
- Experience with carrier-grade network equipment
- Ability to support live network migrations without impacting service
- Must be comfortable working 2nd shift to support migration windows

OverviewThis role supports active core network and data center upgrades across the New York Metro area. You'll be working in live service provider environments where uptime is critical, supporting equipment swaps, migrations, and installs inside Lightpath and similar hub locations.
This is hands-on, production work - not entry-level and not a general cabling role.
What You'll Be Doing- Rack and install telecom and optical transport equipment in headends and COs
- Support network migrations and equipment swaps in live environments
- Follow MOPs to ensure clean execution and zero service impact
- Load configurations and assist with device turn-up
- Perform fiber testing (optical power, path verification, etc.)
- Install and terminate DC power as needed
- Travel site-to-site across NYC, NJ, and Long Island
What You Need- Proven ISP / service provider experience in headend or hub environments
- Strong rack and stack experience with telecom and core network gear
- Fiber installation, dressing, and testing experience
- Experience working with DC power systems
- Ability to follow MOPs and support migration work
- Troubleshooting ability during installs and cutovers
Equipment Experience (must have some):Ciena (6500 preferred), Juniper, Cisco ASR, Adtran, Adva, or similar transport / optical platforms
Additional Info- Work is primarily 2nd shift aligned to migration schedules
- Travel throughout NYC metro (Lightpath hubs and similar sites)
- Mileage reimbursed; company vehicle may be available
- Long-term contract-to-hire tied to core network upgrade projects

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
