Torch Technologies is seeking a talented and versatile Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic teamYou will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and software for autonomous vehicles, working at the intersection of hardware and software innovation. We are innovators in the automation field, specializing in drones and ground vehicles for airfield inspection and recovery. Our team designs and develops cutting-edge compute payloads, autonomy stacks, and applique kits to roboticized vehicles, enabling them to sense, move, and think independently. Every day, we work on solving real-world problems with elegant, high-tech solutions.

As an Electrical Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Electrical Design & Development: Design, prototype, and test electrical systems and custom PCBs for vehicle automation.
  • FPGA Programming: Develop and implement FPGA-based solutions to meet unique automation challenges.
  • Hardware Integration: Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to integrate hardware into vehicle platforms.
  • Software Development: Write, test, and deploy code for robotic systems, using modern tools like Git, VS Code, and Docker.
  • Robotics Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of robotics and the Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2) to contribute to our autonomy stacks.
  • Testing & Optimization: Conduct rigorous hardware and software testing, ensuring reliability and efficiency under field conditions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop end-to-end solutions for autonomous systems.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, robotics, autonomous systems, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.

Schedule: M-F; 8-5

Work Location: Onsite, Tyndall AFB, Florida
