Job Title: Body Test and Validation Engineer (Contract)
Location: Newark, CA-Onsite

Duration: Long Term Contract

 

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, or related field)
  • Minimum 5+ years of automotive body/interior test and validation experience at an OEM, Tier-1 supplier, or certified test lab
  • Proven hands-on experience testing body systems and components (instrument panel, center console, door trims, interior/exterior trims, displays, mechanisms, switches, or vehicle accessories)
  • Strong experience owning end-to-end validation activities, including test planning, execution, reporting, and root cause analysis
  • Ability to design and fabricate custom test fixtures for bench and component-level testing
  • Experience coordinating tests with external test houses and Tier-1 suppliers, including schedule and deliverable tracking
  • Proficiency with standard automotive lab equipment (environmental chambers, shaker tables, DAQs, force/torque transducers, actuators, thermocouples, strain gauges, LVDTs, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of automotive validation milestones within the Product Development Process
  • Experience creating and maintaining validation documentation (DVPR, DVP&R, test specifications, protocols, and reports)
  • Experience supporting PPAP/LQP sign-off to enable SOP
  • Familiarity with FMVSS and applicable global regulatory requirements for interior/body components
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, 3DX, or SolidWorks)
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence for issue tracking and documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to test sites as required
