The department is seeking a temporary professional who will oversee and manage space data analytics and reporting for the School of Medicine (SoM). This role will serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert on all SoM space and occupancy information. The position may participate in strategic space planning and present SoM space analyses and recommendations to various senior leadership space and planning committees. This is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities include developing and designing methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources using a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques. Proactively suggesting areas of investigation is also expected.
- Analyze space data and determine if space is correctly classified. Make recommendations to SoM departments and use judgment to provide corrective action steps as appropriate.
- Create validation reports and scripts to audit iSpace data correctness and completeness.
- Investigate space data issues to determine the root cause and initiate corrective action.
- Provide oversight to OFPM Space Administrator to collaborate with SoM Space Coordinators to make the appropriate corrections to their department data as necessary.
- Identify and resolve space coding variances and discrepancies between SU and Hospital space data.
Provide subject matter expertise for ad-hoc projects and inquiries (e.g., requests for statistical analyses or surveys). Serve as a subject matter expert for all SoM space data classification, coding, and reporting requests. Publish and communicate SoM space guidelines on classifications and coding.
Collaborate with OFPM functional teams (i.e., Planning, Project Management, and Transition Strategies). Validate and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Lead annual Space Data Certification process across SoM.
- Partner and collaborate with SU to establish guidelines, schedule, and deliverables for SoM.
- Assist with space certification training for SoM DFA and space coordinator community.
- Ensure that SU fiscal space data certification requirements are completed for SoM.
Collaborate with technical staff, project teams, or vendors to develop standardizing processes and systemize routine reports, dashboards, and metrics. Partner with LBRE and OFPM Tech Services to identify and implement ways our SU space data systems can be utilized to improve space information and utilization.
Implement a consistent and continuous process across SoM to input and maintain accurate and complete space data in our Stanford University (SU) space data systems. Manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible, and rigorous attention to detail. Effectively manage multiple requests from internal and external customers.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with space management and/or space planning required.
- Able to develop insightful business intelligence reports (KPI''s, metrics, ad hoc queries) and/or dashboards.
- Able to examine data problem areas, find process redundancies, and automate or standardize the data collection process.
- Must have experience in space database management (e.g., Archibus).
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) skills.
- Experience in AutoCAD, Excel Visual Basic, PLSQL, Oracle Database, OBIEE, Tableau.
- Have a broad understanding of system integration, database structures, and table field mappings.
