We are seeking a
Data AI Architect to build and lead an AI-first data and analytics function. This role is designed for someone who treats AI as a force multiplier-not merely a productivity tool, but as a team of digital workers that can be directed, evaluated, and orchestrated to accelerate data engineering, analytics engineering, architecture, and business intelligence initiatives.
You will act as the technical authority responsible for leveraging AI agents to design, build, optimize, and maintain a modern enterprise data platform. Success in this role requires knowing how to effectively delegate work to AI, critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, identify architectural flaws, and guide AI systems toward high-quality solutions.
This is a highly autonomous role with ownership of the organization's data platform and analytics ecosystem. You will be responsible for integrating data across multiple business systems, creating scalable data models, enabling business insights, and ensuring data is structured for meaningful analysis.
This position combines elements of
Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and Analytics Engineering, with a strong emphasis on AI-driven execution and decision-making support.
What You'll DoLead Through AI- Utilize AI agents as your primary execution engine for data architecture, analytics, engineering, documentation, and solution design.
- Direct teams of AI agents to perform research, develop data models, create ETL processes, generate architecture recommendations, and accelerate delivery.
- Critically evaluate AI-generated designs, code, schemas, and recommendations to ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
- Identify flawed AI outputs, including:
- Poor data modeling decisions
- Duplicated transformation logic
- Incomplete ETL designs
- Weak architectural patterns
- Inaccurate business assumptions
- Use AI as a thought partner to challenge assumptions, explore alternatives, and improve solution quality.
- Continuously improve workflows by integrating AI into data engineering, analytics, and architecture processes.
Own the Data Platform- Act as the primary owner of the organization's analytics and data architecture strategy.
- Design and build scalable data solutions that consolidate information from multiple business systems.
- Create and maintain enterprise data models that support reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.
- Establish data governance, quality controls, monitoring, and standards.
- Define architectural best practices and document technical decisions.
Data Engineering & Integration- Design, build, and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines across multiple business systems.
- Integrate data from ERP platforms, business applications, operational databases, marketing systems, and third-party platforms.
- Establish common identifiers and data relationships across disparate systems.
- Build scalable ingestion, transformation, and orchestration processes.
- Optimize data movement, storage, and accessibility for analytics use cases.
Analytics Engineering & Business Enablement- Transform raw data into trusted, business-ready datasets.
- Enable reporting and self-service analytics for business users.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand key business questions and ensure data is available to answer them.
- Support customer, sales, operational, marketing, and financial analytics initiatives.
- Help business teams understand not just what happened, but why it happened and what actions should be taken.
Required QualificationsAI-First Expertise- Demonstrated experience using AI as a core component of software, analytics, or data delivery workflows.
- Strong ability to direct, review, and refine AI-generated outputs.
- Experience leveraging AI agents for technical design, engineering, architecture, analysis, and documentation.
- Ability to identify poor AI-generated solutions and provide corrective guidance based on sound engineering principles.
- Proven ability to use AI as a strategic thought partner while retaining ownership of technical decisions.
Data Engineering- Extensive experience designing and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data movement, transformation, and integration patterns.
- Experience with modern data ingestion and orchestration tools.
Data Architecture & Modeling- Expert-level SQL skills.
- Strong experience with dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and analytical data structures.
- Experience designing scalable data models across multiple systems.
- Ability to establish common data definitions and business logic across enterprise datasets.
Analytics DatabasesHands-on experience with one or more modern OLAP or analytics database platforms:
- ClickHouse
- Snowflake
- Redshift
- BigQuery
- Similar analytical database technologies
ERP & Integration Experience- Experience extracting and integrating data from ERP systems.
- NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn and integrate additional enterprise platforms and data sources.
Cloud Experience- Experience working within cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Familiarity with services such as:
