Embedded Systems Engineer | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Plainwell that are seeking skilled Embedded Systems Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software for manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing embedded systems in production environments.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with new and existing control systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for embedded systems and software.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for system failures.
• Optimize embedded code for performance, reliability, and resource utilization.
• Participate in the full product development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and support.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in embedded software development for manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Hands-on experience with hardware-software integration, debugging, and testing of embedded systems.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
