Work Mode: Onsite (4 days/week)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Extension Possible)
We are hiring an experienced AWS Engineer (Data Engineering focus) to support enterprise data & analytics initiatives for Huntington Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines on AWS, primarily using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Athena, and ensuring smooth onboarding/loading of new files into the data framework.
This is a hands-on role where the candidate should be able to work independently, deliver quickly, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities-
Architect, build, and maintain scalable AWS data pipelines
-
Load and process incoming files as they are delivered (with possible format adjustments)
-
Optimize and operationalize pipelines into production for analytics consumers
-
Support data integration, modeling, and data quality initiatives
-
Collaborate with business analysts and data science teams to refine requirements
-
Participate in data governance activities and promote curated content into data catalog
-
Work in Agile environments and meet aggressive delivery timelines
-
Ensure data is accurate, complete, consistent, and aligned to business rules

Strong hands-on experience with AWS Glue
-
Strong experience with AWS Lambda
-
Strong experience with AWS Athena
-
Experience in building and managing end-to-end data pipelines
-
Experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
-
Strong communication skills (client-facing coordination + clarity)
-
Ability to work independently and deliver with minimal supervision
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Statistics / related field (or equivalent experience)

4+ years experience in data engineering / data integration / data quality / modeling
-
4+ years working in cross-functional teams with business stakeholders
-
Master's degree (preferred)

Hands-on data testing experience
-
Experience with large, heterogeneous datasets
-
Exposure to open-source or commercial data platforms
-
DevOps experience: version control, automated builds, testing, release management
-
Agile methodology experience
-
Willingness to learn new tools/technologies
A solid AWS Data Engineering professional who can:

Handle new file loads quickly within an existing framework

Adjust file formats when needed
-
Own deliverables end-to-end
-
Communicate clearly with stakeholders
