Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer for a full-time, hybrid position located in Dahlgren, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for safety-critical software development for missile systems and weapon system test equipment. The ideal candidate will drive the design, development, integration, and testing efforts for Aegis Weapon Systems within a premier Defense domain environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test safety-critical software for missile and weapon systems.
  • Develop software solutions for Aegis Weapon Systems and associated test equipment.
  • Write robust, clean, and efficient code in C++ on VxWorks real-time operating systems.
  • Perform hardware/software integration for missile simulators and test equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with strict defense and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Skills: Proven experience in software engineering with hands-on expertise writing code in C++ and using VxWorks.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Architecture: Experience with VxWorks RTOS, including SMP and multi-core architectures.

Preferred Skills & Experience (Plus Points):

  • Experience supporting Aegis BMD, AAW, and missile flight test programs.
  • Familiarity with Standard Missile initialization messages and telemetry formats.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration for missile simulators and test equipment.
