Summary

Systems Administrator

Contract Length: 1 year
Location: NYC
Work Setup: On-site, 5 days per week

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Systems Administrator to support and maintain the Companys enterprise physical security and surveillance infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of Pro-Watch Access Control Systems, Genetec Security Center, ChangeGear SQL databases, enterprise camera/video surveillance systems, and Windows server infrastructure.

Systems Administrator Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Client Pro-Watch access control servers and associated hardware.
  • Support and manage Genetec Security Center servers, video management systems, and camera integrations.
  • Maintain and optimize ChangeGear SQL databases, including performance, availability, backup, and recovery.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise IP camera systems, video recording platforms, storage systems, and surveillance infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot access control, surveillance, server, and database-related incidents.
  • Coordinate hardware and software upgrades for physical security systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Perform system patching, firmware upgrades, security updates, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, operating procedures, and support guides.
  • Provide on-call and emergency support for critical physical security and surveillance systems.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, facilities, and operations teams.
Systems Administrator Required Technical Skills
  • Client Pro-Watch Access Control Administration
  • Genetec Security Center administration and support
  • IP camera systems, video encoders, NVRs, DVRs, and enterprise video storage solutions
  • Card access systems, badge management, door controllers, and physical security integrations
  • Windows Server and desktop operating systems
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services
  • Microsoft SQL Server administration and maintenance
  • DHCP, DNS, routing, firewall technologies, VLANs, and IP networking
  • Access Control Lists, encryption, authentication and authorization, and system hardening
  • System health monitoring, performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization
  • Scripting and automation experience, with PowerShell preferred
  • Reporting and technical documentation development
Systems Administrator Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of Information Technology experience supporting enterprise server environments and critical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience supporting physical security systems, access control platforms, video management systems, or related operational technology environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset with experience providing end-user support.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound technical and business decisions.
Systems Administrator Additional Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport server, network, and security system equipment when required.
  • Ability to provide after-hours, on-call support for critical systems.
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours to support scheduled maintenance and emergency response activities.
  • Ability to travel to Company locations as necessary.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a NERC CIP Personnel Risk Assessment Background Check.

Systems Administrator Work Location
This position is fully onsite, five days per week.
