Grade 18: Salary Starts at $55,037.00 annually. Rate of pay depends on qualifications. Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThe Graduate Engineer I in the Development Department is responsible for assisting in the planning, researching, preparation, and the execution of SAWS Utility Service Agreements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Collects, analyzes, and interprets engineering, operations, modeling, and maintenance data in order to define preliminary scopes and requirements for Developer projects through Utility Service Agreements (USAs).
- Reviews plans, specifications, and reports; evaluates engineering reports and proposals, makes recommendations, and participates in negotiations to ensure Developer projects comply with SAWS Utility Service Regulations (USRs).
- Applies engineering principles, including water and wastewater engineering principles, construction practices, surveying, and problem solving to assist with developing engineering solutions for USAs.
- Interprets and applies city ordinances, state, and federal regulations, SAWS specifications, and related standards to USAs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
DECISION MAKING- Works under general supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an institution accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Able to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
