Job#: 3021973 Job Description: SAP Cutover Lead
Location: La Vista, Nebraska. Remote is fine, but candidates must be willing to be onsite April 13-17 and May 11-18.
Employment Type: Contract, 3-4 months
Candidates must work on the W2 of Apex Systems. There are no 1099/C2C options.
Candidates must be able to work without sponsorship for the duration of the contract.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Cutover Lead to support the data and reporting workstream for an upcoming SAP migration and go-live. This role focuses on task coordination, sequencing, and timeline management, not deep technical execution. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting previous SAP cutovers and understands the order of events required for a successful go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the cutover task list for data and reporting activities.
- Ensure tasks are completed in the correct sequence based on cutover best practices and prior SAP go-live experience.
- Track progress, identify dependencies, escalate delays, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Coordinate closely with SAP functional teams, data teams, IT infrastructure teams, and reporting teams.
- Participate in and support cutover dress rehearsals leading up to go-live.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination during the go-live window, including after-hours communication and issue tracking.
- Provide clear, concise updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience supporting at least one SAP cutover or go-live in a coordination, project management, or cutover-specific role is required. A strong understanding of cutover sequencing, order of operations, and typical execution patterns is necessary.
Snowflake and Operational Data Storage (ODS) or similar downstream system experience is mandatory. The right candidate will understand data replication, load timing, and post-load validation.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with SAP environments, Snowflake concepts, and IT infrastructure dependencies is required. The role demands organizational and coordination skills to manage detailed cutover plans. Excellent communication skills are also necessary to work cross-functionally.
Work Environment
The role can be performed remotely for most of the engagement. However, the candidate must be onsite for the cutover dress rehearsal and the final go-live week.
Availability for after-hours work during the cutover and go-live timeline is required. There are several weeks with overnight shifts and 24/7 operations for cutover involving shift rotations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multiple SAP go-live or cutover projects.
- Understanding of how data, reporting, and infrastructure intersect during major system transitions.
- Detail-oriented, steady under pressure, and skilled at keeping teams aligned.
