Defined Software Development is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator for contract consulting opportunities supporting enterprise platforms, workflow automation, IT service management, system integrations, and business applications. The ideal candidate will have experience administering enterprise SaaS platforms and working across technical and business functions to support system reliability, automation, data exchange, security, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and support enterprise platforms and SaaS applications.
  • Support workflow automation, business process automation, dashboards, reporting, and system integrations.
  • Administer and support ServiceNow environments, including ITSM-related functionality, workflows, user roles, service catalogs, and platform governance.
  • Support Smartsheet Enterprise or comparable workflow automation platforms, including configuration, dashboards, forms, workflows, and platform administration.
  • Manage user access, permissions, roles, authentication, and identity-related processes.
  • Monitor platform health, system performance, integrations, usage, and operational metrics.
  • Troubleshoot application, platform, workflow, integration, data synchronization, hardware, software, network, and identity-related issues.
  • Support platform upgrades, patches, releases, configuration changes, and environment maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain automated processes, approval workflows, notifications, reports, and dashboards.
  • Support integrations using REST APIs, web services, JSON, XML, CSV, and other data exchange technologies.
  • Work with technical and business stakeholders to define procedures, resolve issues, and improve business processes.
  • Participate in multiple projects as a technical team member or project lead and provide guidance or knowledge transfer to other staff.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and end-user guidance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience administering enterprise SaaS, workflow automation, ITSM, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with ServiceNow administration, including platform configuration, user and role management, workflows, service catalogs, and ITSM processes.
  • Experience with Smartsheet Enterprise or a comparable workflow automation platform.
  • Experience with SQL, data management, reporting, system integrations, and data exchange technologies.
  • Experience developing or supporting automated business processes, workflows, approvals, notifications, dashboards, and reports.
  • Experience with REST APIs, web services, JSON, XML, CSV, and automated data exchange.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management concepts, including SAML, SSO, authentication, authorization, RBAC, and user lifecycle management.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex platform, application, integration, identity, network, hardware, or software issues.
  • Experience monitoring system or platform performance, availability, integrations, and operational metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams and manage multiple projects or priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Smartsheet Data Shuttle, Bridge, Control Center, Dynamic View, WorkApps, dashboards, forms, and workflow automation.
  • Experience integrating Smartsheet or enterprise platforms with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Power Automate, or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, patches, releases, configuration migrations, and environment maintenance.
  • Experience with IT service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or knowledge transfer.
  • Experience creating technical procedures, documentation, and end-user guidance.
