A recognized institution in Virginia is seeking a Lead/Sr. Java Developer in Richmond to support the design, development, and delivery of complex software components for an enterprise workflow modernization initiative.

Lead end-to-end solution design, development, and implementation for complex software components
Apply Java development expertise to build scalable, secure, and maintainable applications
Design software architecture, database structures, and microservices-based solutions
Mentor junior and mid-level developers and promote consistent engineering practices
Conduct technical reviews, troubleshoot issues, and support deployment and production stability
Qualifications:
8+ years of hands-on software development experience and 3+ years leading development teams
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Java and experience with multiple programming languages and frameworks
Knowledge of software design patterns, relational and document databases, and SQL
Understanding of cloud computing platforms and services
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and other software development methodologies
Proven ability to guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers
Experience contributing to project estimation and planning
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Adaptability to changing project requirements and technologies
Knowledge of software security principles and best practices
Desired Skills:
12+ years of software development and design experience and 7+ years leading development teams
Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
Agile or Scrum certification
Relevant certifications in Java, Spring, React, Angular, or related development technologies
Experience designing complex software systems and implementing microservices-based solutions
Proficiency in both front-end and back-end technologies
Familiarity with DevOps tools, continuous integration and deployment, and infrastructure as code
Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity practices and integrating security into software development
Proficiency with NoSQL databases
