Summary

Position Title: Fiber Optics Technicians
Location: Fairview, NC/ Arden, NC (onsite)
Duration: Minimum 2 years (potential for extension as volume increases)
Start Date: ASAP

Interview Process:
Rapid interview and hire process candidates could be hired immediately due to urgent program needs. They will run folks through a 1 2-week training at their facility and can swap out as needed.

Scope (What's driving the need):
Urgent requirement to support a satellite payload integration project for a major European telecommunications customer. Delays in fiber optic terminations are slowing satellite integration timelines. Need to scale up workforce across multiple shifts to meet delivery milestones. They are competing with Starlink and every week they are offline, they are falling behind.

The persons need to have strong hand eye coordination, good color eye site to distinguish between colors. These are delicate fibers in 50 microns, viewed under a microscope.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision fiber optic terminations (approximately 2,000 fibers per assembly) into 12- and 24-ferrule configurations.
  • Work with extremely fine, hair-sized fibers; handle, epoxy, and assemble under clean room conditions.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and maintain strict quality standards.
  • Collaborate with operations and quality teams to meet daily production goals.
  • Support deliverables and milestones as defined in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Participate in a 1 2-week fiber optics termination training program at the facility prior to full production work.

Necessary Skills:

  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to fine detail
  • Strong hand eye coordination.
  • Experience in fiber optics, precision assembly, or quality inspection roles.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment and follow safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Comfortable with shift work (first, second, and third shifts available).
  • Prior experience with satellite, aerospace, or telecommunications manufacturing preferred.
  • Quality inspection background a plus.

Additional Details:

  • HIGHLY URGENT hiring 8 10 technicians immediately, with potential to grow to 10 12 within 3 months.
  • Onsite only no remote work.
  • Supporting operations tied to Northrop Grumman and L3Harris customers. Any folks that we ve deployed at Northrop or L3 Harris would be perfect customers here.
  • This effort is critical to maintaining launch schedules (comparable urgency to Starlink launch cadence).
