Description:
AgreeYa is global Integrator and seeking an Azure Cosmos DB Developer with strong expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications running on Azure Cosmos DB. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building highly available, high-throughput, always-on solutions while balancing architecture, production support, and performance optimization responsibilities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Cosmos DB Subject Matter Expert (SME) capable of guiding architecture and supporting production environments.
- Proven experience designing scalable, resilient, and highly available Cosmos DB solutions.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize RU consumption, throughput, and latency.
- Comfortable partnering with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams to improve performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of software engineering and database development experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cosmos DB experience in production environments.
- Strong expertise in:
- Cosmos DB data modeling and partitioning strategies.
- Query optimization and performance tuning.
- Throughput and RU/s optimization.
- Indexing policies and Change Feed processing.
- Multi-region deployment and global distribution.
- High availability and disaster recovery patterns.
- Monitoring and observability.
- Experience supporting high-volume, always-on enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience with Azure services including:
- Azure Functions
- App Services
- AKS
- Event Hubs
- Service Bus
- Application Insights
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide both strategic architectural guidance and hands-on production support.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
- Experience with .NET and/or Java applications.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience establishing governance, operational standards, and performance best practices.
- Experience with cost optimization, scalability, and long-term platform improvements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
