Job Title: Mainframe COBOL Programmer

Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)

Location: 100% Remote

Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Role Overview:

Seeking an experienced Mainframe COBOL Programmer to support enterprise Medicaid systems in a large government environment. This role involves application enhancements, production support, testing, and collaboration with development and QA teams within MMIS/MEDS platforms.

Candidates with prior government client experience and Medicaid claims processing exposure are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and modify COBOL and ADS programs in a mainframe environment
Work with IDMS databases, and JCL
Perform debugging, unit testing, and integration testing
Support QA, UAT, and production activities
Collaborate with technical, operational, and QA teams
Participate in rotational on-call support

Required Skills:

10+ years of Mainframe experience, MVS COBOL, JCL
7+ years with IDMS & CA-ADS
5+ years with Changeman, CICS, and VSAM
Experience supporting government clients and Medicaid environments preferred

Preferred Skills:

Medicaid or Medicare claims processing
SAS, MQ, File-Aid, Endevor, Xpeditor
