Volt is hiring for a 1st Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician for a leading manufacturing facility in Hayward, CA.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will:
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor maintenance technicians in daily repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, VFDs (drives), and electrical systems
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate machinery to identify equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure all equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards
  • Review blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and maintenance manuals to support repairs and installations
  • Manage maintenance work orders, inventory, parts procurement, and maintenance documentation
  • Support facility improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety procedures
  • Collaborate with production and management teams to improve equipment reliability and overall plant performance

Schedule: M-F 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM

This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or production environments
  • Strong experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting, VFDs (drives), motor controls, and industrial automation equipment
  • Experience rebuilding pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing maintenance schedules, work orders, and technician workloads
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance machinery
  • Welding, fabrication, HVAC, or plumbing experience is a plus
  • Commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and equipment reliability

Pay Rate: $28/hr. -$35/hr. DOE.
