Job Title: Data Center Cable Technician (Entry-Level)

Location: Altoona, IA (6 months) Lebanon, IN (long-term)
Pay: $20-$23/hr (Entry-Level) | $24-$27/hr (2+ years fiber experience)

Overview

We are hiring entry-level Cable Technicians to support a massive, long-term data center build - a rare opportunity to break into a high-demand trade with no prior experience required.
You'll start in Altoona, IA for about 6 months, where housing is fully provided + daily per diem, making this a great opportunity to save money while learning a skilled trade. After the initial phase, you'll transition to a long-term site in Lebanon, IN. This is more than just a job - it's a career starter. You'll get hands-on training in fiber, cabling, and data center infrastructure while working alongside experienced technicians. What You'll Do

As a technician, you'll support experienced team members in building critical data center infrastructure, including:

• Pulling cable and fiber
• Learning cable color coding standards
• Assisting with fiber termination and punch-downs
• Installing cable trays and pathways
• Building and installing server racks
• Supporting overall data center construction efforts

? Most candidates will start with cable tray installation and rack builds, then grow into more technical responsibilities.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and reliability (must be punctual)
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Comfortable working in a construction/data center setting
• Willingness to work extended hours when needed (10-12 hour days, up to 6 days/week)
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work at heights
• Must be open to relocation (IA IN)

Preferred (Not Required)

• Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, snips)
• Any experience with:
  • Cabling or fiber
  • Low voltage work

Compensation & Perks

• $20-$23/hr (entry-level)
• $24-$27/hr for experienced fiber techs (2+ years)
• Overtime available (1.5x pay)
• Free lodging provided in Altoona, IA

Work Environment
