Summary

About Marvell

Marvell's semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

Marvell is a market leader in Connectivity Semiconductor products (PHYs) that are widely deployed in every major cloud data center and AI cluster. We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to join the Optics & Connectivity Product Architecture team, which is responsible for developing architectural solutions to strategic technical problems, and addressing critical customer requirements both directly and indirectly.

What You Can Expect

In this role, your special mission is to serve as a conduit between architectural innovations and practical implementations, which includes periodically embedding into a variety of product design teams to help turn architectural specifications into actual product features, while feeding in-the-trench intelligence back to ensure that innovation efforts remain down-to-earth.

To be successful, you should be very comfortable in creating highly-functional software prototypes based on high-level architectural specifications, and merging your design into product codebases without disrupting existing operation. You will provide documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer, in order to hand-off further enhancement and maintenance of your design to the implementation team.

In return, as you iterate through such strategic engagements, you will regularly be exposed to novel ideas, working on new features, and integrating into a variety of interesting products. You will accumulate wide-ranging knowledge and play an impactful role in propagating best practices to many design teams.

What We're Looking For

Critical Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in EECS or related technical field(s).
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded design within the wired/optical communi
    cations industry.
  • Insight into Protocol/Software/Hardware/Human interactions
  • Technical Leadership experience in Optical PHY products with exposure to Customer Support
  • Strong firmware engineering background, with working knowledge in digital design; OR vice-versa.
  • Robust Communications Skills in Listening & Teaching.
