Position: Configuration Specialist & Build Administrator
Location: Lansing, MI 48933
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description: Seeking an experienced IT professional to lead build and release automation for large-scale applications. The role focuses on managing and enhancing application build, release, and configuration management processes, implementing CI/CD automation, and serving as the technical liaison between development teams and vendors. It requires ensuring version control standards, baselining, problem analysis, and proactive performance tuning of build pipelines across multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage source code control, baselining, versioning, problem analysis, and release tracking.
- Design, script, and optimize build and release automation to support CI/CD for testing and deployment.
- Provide guidance on project administration, PM practices, and build/automation tool usage.
- Deploy new releases of build, configuration, and version-management software; monitor performance and reliability.
- Serve as technical advisor for build automation, configuration management, and version-control issues; lead root-cause analysis and preventative actions.
Most Relevant Technical Skills:
- Build Automation tools: Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
- Version control: Git, Bitbucket; ClearCase/ClearQuest (experience preferred)
- CI/CD, Release Management, Build pipelines
- Scripting: Python, Shell, Perl
- Project administration and vendor coordination
- ADO (Azure DevOps) administration and branch management
- Knowledge of Bridges and MiSACWIS environments a plus
- Issue/Work tracking: Jira, ADO Boards
