Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cyber security, Okta IAM Engineer to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Okta, SSO, MFA, identity lifecycle management, Okta Workflows, APIs, and cloud-based IAM integrations.

The candidate will work closely with security, infrastructure, application, HR, and business teams to automate identity processes, strengthen access controls, troubleshoot authentication issues, and maintain secure hybrid cloud identity environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage the Okta Identity Cloud platform, including users, groups, applications, policies, and lifecycle states.

• Configure and support Single Sign-On (SSO) using SAML 2.0 and OIDC.

• Implement and maintain MFA, authentication policies, authorization controls, and access policies.

• Develop and maintain Okta Workflows to automate user provisioning, deprovisioning, group management, and identity lifecycle processes.

• Develop and integrate REST APIs and Okta APIs for identity automation and application integrations.

• Configure and manage Event Hooks and Inline Hooks for real-time identity updates and custom access logic.

• Support end-to-end Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) lifecycle automation.

• Integrate Okta with HR systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and enterprise applications.

• Configure role-based and group-based access controls to ensure appropriate user access.

• Troubleshoot authentication, provisioning, SSO, MFA, workflow, and integration-related issues.

• Monitor IAM environments, analyze logs and security events, and perform root-cause analysis.

• Integrate Okta with cloud platforms such as AWS, including AWS IAM and AWS Lambda.

• Collaborate with application and security teams to implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.

• Support identity governance, access reviews, and security compliance requirements.

• Create technical documentation for IAM configurations, workflows, integrations, and operational procedures.

• Participate in IAM projects, enhancements, testing, deployment, and production support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, Cybersecurity, or related technology.

• Strong hands-on experience with Okta Administration.

• Experience with Okta Workflows, Okta APIs, Event Hooks, and Inline Hooks.

• Strong knowledge of SAML 2.0, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SSO, and MFA.

• Experience with user provisioning and deprovisioning and JML lifecycle management.

• Experience integrating Okta with enterprise applications and cloud platforms.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD.

• Experience with REST APIs and identity automation.

• Experience with scripting/programming languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, or Java.

• Understanding of RBAC, identity governance, authentication, authorization, and access control.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Experience working with security logs, authentication events, and access-related incidents.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating Okta with AWS IAM and AWS Lambda.

• Experience with HRIS-driven identity lifecycle automation.

• Experience with One Identity Manager or Active Roles Server.

• Knowledge of SQL and identity-related data synchronization.

• Experience working in hybrid on-premises and cloud IAM environments.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and secure application development.

• Okta certification is a plus.
