Job Description:

The Lead Okta Engineer will serve as a technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise identity and access management solutions using Okta. This role focuses on Okta Customer Identity and Access Management, Okta Identity Engine, and complex identity integrations in a cloud and hybrid environment. The engineer will lead technical initiatives, mentor others, and work closely with business and technical teams to deliver secure and scalable identity solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of Okta Identity and Access Management solutions with a focus on Okta Customer Identity and Access Management.
• Serve as a technical lead for Okta Identity Engine implementations and enhancements.
• Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support Okta integrations across multiple business functions.
• Configure Okta to provide enterprise single sign on and multi factor authentication for internal and external applications.
• Design and manage Okta policies including authentication, authorization, and access policies.
• Implement identity provider federation, OpenID Connect, OAuth, SAML, and WS Federation integrations.
• Develop and maintain custom Okta profiles, profile mappings, attribute mastering, and dynamic group configurations.
• Implement and support Okta out of the box integrations including Org to Org and service applications.
• Utilize Okta APIs and custom application frameworks to support business requirements.
• Support identity requirements related to merging or consolidating Okta environments.
• Assist application teams throughout the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and production support.
• Collect and document business requirements and translate them into technical identity solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders and business partners.
• Follow agile software development lifecycle and change management processes including release and bug fix management.
• Develop documentation to support compliance and operational requirements.
• Mentor and train team members on Okta solutions and best practices.
• Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve technical identity related issues.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree with 10+ years of overall software development experience and 5+ years of experience implementing, integrating, and supporting Okta cloud technologies.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Okta Certified Architect preferred.
• Extensive hands on experience with Okta Customer Identity and Access Management configurations.
• Strong experience with Okta Identity Engine in recent enterprise implementations.
• Expert knowledge of Okta access gateway, single sign on, adaptive multi factor authentication, universal directory, advanced server access, and API access management.
• Experience integrating Okta with on premises directories and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of identity as a service solutions and access management systems.
• Experience with authentication standards including SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and WS Federation.
• Experience with SCIM provisioning and API authentication standards.
• Knowledge of web services including REST and SOAP.
• Understanding of cloud computing architecture including infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and software as a service models.
• Experience with LDAP technologies including Active Directory.
• Experience managing cloud identity profiles and secure authentication systems.
• Familiarity with development technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Python, NodeJS, ReactJS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI CD pipelines, and cloud native services.
