Job Description
As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer supporting a premier Randstad client in Washington, D.C., you will play a pivotal role in maturing a cloud-native ecosystem within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
This is a high-impact, hybrid position requiring periodic onsite attendance in D.C. for critical PI Planning and collaborative ceremonies.
You will be responsible for bridging the gap between development, security, and operations by architecting automated CI/CD pipelines, enforcing robust security standards via SAST/DAST integration, and leveraging Python CDK and Terraform to manage scalable AWS infrastructure.
We are seeking a self-organized professional who thrives in a "camera-on," collaborative Agile team and is passionate about driving zero-downtime releases and proactive observability.
Key Responsibilities
Secure CI/CD Orchestration: Design, implement, and maintain automated pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy, specializing in blue/green deployment strategies.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using Python-based AWS CDK and Terraform to ensure consistent, repeatable environments.
Security Integration: Embed security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) such as Checkmarx and SonarQube directly into the DevOps workflow.
Advanced Observability: Integrate and manage the Dynatrace platform to monitor application health and performance across the cloud stack.
Vulnerability Management: Proactively identify, monitor, and remediate security vulnerabilities while ensuring compliance with NIST, OWASP, and CIS frameworks.
Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in SAFe ceremonies, embracing self-management to handle capacity planning, iteration commitments, and cross-functional alignment.
Qualifications
Cloud Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with core AWS services (IAM, EC2, Lambda, S3) and AWS-native deployment tooling.
Automation Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, particularly for infrastructure automation and custom tooling.
Security Acumen: Proven experience in cloud governance and the implementation of security-first development practices.
Observability Tools: Deep familiarity with the Dynatrace Observability platform for monitoring and incident response.
Agile Experience: Prior experience working within a SAFe environment; a SAFe certification or formal training is highly encouraged.
Communication & Presence: Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to a "camera-on" collaborative culture and the ability to travel to D.C. for onsite PI sessions.
Preferred Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP), or CISSP.
