Blue Yonder WMS Sustainment Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Blue Yonder (BY) WMS Techno-Functional Consultant to join our Production Sustainment team. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Blue Yonder WMS (preferably version 2023.x), combined with strong functional knowledge of warehouse management processes and technical expertise. This role requires the ability to independently analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents while working closely with warehouse operations teams and conducting frequent onsite warehouse visits.

Key Responsibilities

<>Techno-Functional Responsibilities

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Blue Yonder WMS (2023.x), with a strong understanding of end-to-end solution design and support.
• Translate business and warehouse operational requirements into functional and technical Blue Yonder WMS solutions.
• Configure and customize Blue Yonder WMS components, including:
  • Inbound Processes (ASN, Receiving, Putaway)
  • Outbound Processes (Picking Strategies, Packing, Loading, Shipping)
  • Inventory Management
  • Replenishment
  • Wave and Waveless Processing
  • Yard Management (if applicable)
  • Labor Management System (LMS), if deployed
• Design and review integrations/interfaces with:
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • TMS platforms
  • Automation systems (Conveyors, MHE, ASRS)
  • Reporting and analytics tools
• Support upgrades, patches, and feature rollouts for Blue Yonder WMS 2023 versions.
• Provide production support, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

<>Warehouse & Operational Engagement

• Conduct onsite warehouse visits to:
  • Understand operational workflows and business processes
  • Lead requirement-gathering workshops
  • Support UAT, cutover, and go-live activities
  • Troubleshoot system and operational issues directly on the warehouse floor
• Collaborate with supply chain, warehouse operations, and IT teams to improve efficiency, productivity, and throughput.

<>Implementation & Delivery

• Lead or support full lifecycle implementations, including design, build, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Create and maintain:
  • Functional Design Documents (FDDs)
  • Technical Specifications
  • Configuration Documentation
  • Process Documentation
• Support SIT, UAT, and go-live readiness activities.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide knowledge transfer to client and internal teams to facilitate timely incident resolution.

Required Qualifications

<>Experience

• 8+ years of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Blue Yonder (JDA) WMS experience.
• Proven experience with Blue Yonder WMS 2023.x versions.
• Multiple full-cycle Blue Yonder WMS implementations and/or major upgrade projects.

<>Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of:
  • Blue Yonder WMS architecture and data model
  • Configuration versus customization best practices
  • APIs, web services, and message queues
  • SQL and data analysis for troubleshooting
• Experience with automation integrations and RF/mobile device configurations is highly preferred.

<>Functional Expertise

• Deep understanding of warehouse operations and distribution center best practices.
• Experience supporting various fulfillment models, including:
  • E-commerce
  • Retail
  • Wholesale
  • 3PL (preferred)

Location & Travel

• Must be based in or near Plano, TX.
• Must be willing and able to travel frequently to local and regional warehouse locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating Blue Yonder WMS from older versions.
• Exposure to Distributed Order Management (DOM) and/or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Prior consulting experience.
• Supply Chain or Logistics certifications.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
