Electronics Laboratory Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Laboratory Manager to oversee our engineering lab and support the development of advanced electronic systems for medical, aerospace, defense, industrial, and communications applications. This role combines laboratory management with hands-on electronics work, including PCB assembly, prototype bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and fully operational engineering laboratory.
  • Manage calibration and maintenance of electronic test equipment.
  • Perform PCB assembly, soldering, rework, and prototype builds.
  • Support PCB bring-up, functional testing, hardware debugging, and engineering validation.
  • Maintain component inventory, lab supplies, and prototype materials.
  • Assist with engineering documentation, BOM verification, and design reviews.
  • Recommend improvements to lab processes, equipment, and organization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an electronics laboratory or hardware development environment.
  • Strong soldering, PCB assembly, and rework experience (SMT and through-hole).
  • Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electronic assemblies.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and related test equipment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC certification or equivalent electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with prototype or low-volume manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with analog, digital, or embedded systems.
  • Experience with Altium Designer, inventory management, or basic scripting (Python, LabVIEW, or TCL).
  • Medical, aerospace, or defense electronics experience is a plus.
