Summary

The senior network engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure within the company. The senior engineer ensures that the network operates smoothly, securely, and efficiently to meet the organization's business requirements for both on-premises and remote sites.

Position Responsibilities May include:

Lead the support for network-related hardware, software, and operating system configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and administration.

Conduct comprehensive network analyses and recommend upgrades and changes; assess the organization's current and future network needs.

Oversee the development and execution of advanced network solutions for application and IT infrastructure components.

Ensure strict compliance with policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.

Manage and configure Intrusion Protection Systems and Firewalls at an advanced level.

Supervise the network backup process, ensuring network systems are properly backed up according to established policies.

Lead the review and installation of security patches to network devices.

Stay at the forefront of the latest technologies in the IT industry.

Identify, research, evaluate, and recommend new and emerging technologies to enhance the organizational environment and increase automation.

Direct and manage network projects and execute complex network project task assignments.

Provide high-level analytical support in determining the root cause of complex network problems and implement effective action plans.

Perform additional projects and duties to support ongoing business needs at a strategic level.

Nature & Scope:

Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience

Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision

Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals

Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions

Knowledge & Skills:

Extensive experience with Cisco Network Equipment and Technologies.

Proven ability to develop complex problems and provide unique, customized solutions.

Strong analytical and process management skills.

Ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into advanced network and operational requirements.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to perform and provide quality reviews.

Experience in writing, reviewing, and/or updating SOX documentation.

Experience engaging third-party vendors to ensure network operational KPIs are met.

Demonstrated good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job.

Experience:

8+ years supporting complex network infrastructure.

Education/Certification:

CCNP or equivalent required

4-year degree in IT field preferred

People Management: No
