Microservices Architect/Azure Technical Architect/Azure Solution Architect || Remote

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Azure Microservices Solution Architect to lead the evolution of enterprise employee-facing applications built on modern cloud architecture. This role combines hands-on solution design with strategic architectural leadership, focusing on scalable microservices, Azure cloud services, and enterprise data capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a problem solver and collaborative engineering leader who is comfortable designing detailed technical solutions—not just high-level architecture. You'll partner with engineering teams, product owners, and executive stakeholders to define enterprise standards while actively guiding implementation across cloud-native applications.

About the Project

You'll support an internal Team Member Application launched last year that enables employees to:

• View pay stubs and HR information

• Order food and beverages through a mobile experience

• Access additional employee self-service features

The platform is built using Azure cloud and microservices architecture, with ongoing development centered around enhancing existing services and delivering new features for internal users.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enhance cloud-native enterprise applications using Azure and microservices architecture.

• Create detailed solution and component designs, APIs, service interactions, and object-oriented application models.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to deliver new features within an existing employee platform.

• Establish enterprise architecture standards for scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Drive future-state enterprise data architecture supporting analytics, governance, digital transformation, and AI initiatives.

• Influence technical direction by partnering with product, engineering, and executive stakeholders.

• Mentor engineers through design reviews, architectural guidance, and best practices.

• Ensure microservices are resilient, observable, and aligned with enterprise integration patterns.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering and solution architecture experience.

• Strong expertise in Azure Cloud and cloud-native application development.

• Proven experience designing and implementing microservices in enterprise environments.

• Deep understanding of object-oriented design (OOD) and enterprise application architecture.

• Experience producing low-level and detailed technical designs, including service contracts, data models, and integration patterns.

• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.

• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder communication skills across engineering and leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise employee or HR applications.

• Background in cloud data architecture, governance, and analytics platforms.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization, and Azure cloud services.

• Experience supporting AI-ready data and digital transformation initiatives.
