Job Description – SAP GTS Consultant

Role: SAP GTS Consultant / Senior Consultant

Location: Dallas, TX / Houston, TX

Hybrid (2 days onsite at the Dallas, TX Location (First Preference); Houston, TX – Second Preference)

Duration: 6 Months

Experience: 8–10+ years overall SAP experience, with strong hands-on SAP GTS expertise

Key Responsibilities

• Lead/configure SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Work on SAP GTS, edition for SAP HANA.
• Configure and support key GTS areas:
• Compliance Management – Sanctioned Party List screening, embargo checks and legal control.
• Customs Management – import/export customs processes, declarations and communication.
• Trade Preference Management – preference determination and supplier/customer declarations.
• Classification – HS/commodity codes and export-control classifications.
• Integrate SAP GTS with SAP S/4HANA / ECC, including master data, sales, purchasing, delivery and logistics processes.
• Conduct requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design and configuration.
• Support interface design, data mapping, migration and integration testing.
• Prepare functional specifications and coordinate developments/enhancements with technical teams.
• Execute/support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, go-live and hypercare.
• Troubleshoot GTS integration and transactional issues across order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.
• Collaborate with business, logistics, finance, compliance, customs and IT stakeholders.
• Prepare functional/design documentation, test scripts, training materials and knowledge-transfer documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP GTS configuration and implementation.
• Good understanding of international trade processes covering import, export, customs and trade compliance.
• Strong integration knowledge between SAP GTS and SAP S/4HANA/ECC.
• Understanding of master data such as business partners, products/materials, classifications and organizational structures.
• Experience across the full implementation lifecycle: Design → Build → Test → Cutover → Go-Live → Hypercare.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP GTS, edition for SAP HANA and S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Experience in GTS migration/upgrade from legacy GTS environments.
• Knowledge of interfaces with customs authorities or third-party trade/compliance systems.
• Exposure to complex global manufacturing, automotive, engineering, chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments.
• SAP GTS/S/4HANA certification is an added advantage.
