W2Hiring - Java Developer with IAM or Cybersecurity - Westlake, TX, Smithfield, RI, Merrimack, NH (Hybrid)

Role: Java Developer

Location: Westlake, TX (Hybrid)

Job Description: Classic profile, Java/Angular AWS. Experience with things like IAM is ideal or other cybersecurity project related tools.

Overview: FebSec: Feb Security, legacy system w/ 6 components: 1 they're focused on is authentication server. Allows internal reps and external clients to log into. It was built on legacy Java, Struts, early versions of Spring Boot. Sending out a bid for 12 Software Engineers, 4 business/ Systems Analysts, 1 Quality Engineer, 1 Technical PM, 1 Solution Architect (will have 21 heads total to bring in as overall project). Resources will ramp up throughout 18-20 month project, wrapping up by end of 2027.

• Primary skillset is Java, doesn't need to be Strut experts as they're migrating away from Struts, but should be able to demonstrate that they can pick up new frameworks quickly.
• Their existing UI us JSP integrated Java front-end. There is just a single page that needs to be migrated to Angular (single screen, dropdown to select a firm, manipulates cookies to navigate to a new experience). Would be a lightweight lift-and-shift. *There is a small chance that they will make the enhancements to JSP vs moving to Angular due to timelines and dependencies, but that is not their preferred approach so they are operating as though they're moving to Angular and accounting for Full Stack resources accordingly.
• 2-3 of the Engineers will need to have Angular skills - once the UI migration is complete, they will be expected to roll over into Java work.
• Business Systems Analysts - preference would be for them to have some experience in cybersecurity projects, specifically IAM.
• Solution Architect - they will want to discuss with Siran (sp?), who is the Architect leading on the Security side. They may take an in-house Architect for FebSec and bring on the Contractor to support additional work going on that is less domain-specific. Needs further internal discussion.
• IT Project Manager - they are treating this as a Program. Needs someone technical to understand multi-teams, dependencies, how to align things, delivery leadership.
• Speed and quality of candidates is critical to them.
