Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Reporting & UAT Analyst to support data analysis, reporting, data quality validation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and project coordination within a healthcare or Medicaid environment.
The analyst will review functional and technical design documents, identify requirement gaps, map data across interface systems, develop test scenarios, validate data pipelines and reports, and coordinate with business stakeholders, quality assurance (QA) teams, developers, database administrators, and third-party vendors.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Teradata SQL, BTEQ, Teradata SQL Assistant, data testing, reporting, and Medicaid or Medicare data. The role requires the ability to investigate data discrepancies, track issues through resolution, document findings, and communicate complex technical and analytical results to business and technical stakeholders.
Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment, claims, encounters, clinical quality data, and state or federal Medicaid policy implementations is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Testing & Validation
Design, develop, execute, and document comprehensive test cases and data validation scripts.
Validate data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and completeness across data pipelines, ETL processes, interfaces, and reports.
Identify data anomalies, discrepancies, missing records, and inconsistencies.
Review design documents and proactively identify requirement gaps, data mapping issues, and potential risks.
Validate source-to-target data mappings across interface systems.
Support functional testing, integration testing, data testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Document test results, defects, validation findings, and recommended corrective actions.
Collaborate with QA and development teams to ensure defects are resolved and retested successfully.
2. SQL Development & Data Reporting
Write, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries against enterprise data warehouses.
Use Teradata SQL to extract, analyze, validate, and report operational and analytical data.
Develop scheduled and ad hoc reports based on business requirements.
Perform SQL performance tuning and investigate data retrieval or processing issues.
Utilize BTEQ and Teradata SQL Assistant for querying, analysis, and data validation.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and operational issues.
Support data reconciliation and reporting activities across multiple systems.
3. Reporting & Data Visualization
Translate business requirements into clear, actionable reports and dashboards.
Develop or support data visualizations using tools such as:
Present analytical findings and reporting results to business stakeholders and project leadership.
Ensure reports accurately reflect business rules, data definitions, and reporting requirements.
Support the review and improvement of existing reporting processes.
4. UAT & Test Coordination
Review functional and technical design documents to ensure requirements are complete and testable.
Assist lead analysts with project collaboration, documentation, and coordination.
Review and contribute to test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
Work with stakeholders to develop realistic business scenarios for testing.
Coordinate with business users, QA teams, developers, and project stakeholders during testing cycles.
Provide demonstrations to internal teams and project stakeholders.
Support pre-go-live and post-go-live issue resolution.
Track issues from identification through resolution and ensure ownership is assigned appropriately.
Monitor outstanding defects and follow up to support timely resolution.
Develop workflows and recommend solutions to improve testing and operational processes.
5. Vendor & Technical Collaboration
Serve as a technical point of contact for data warehouse vendors.
Coordinate with vendors, infrastructure teams, database administrators, developers, and QA personnel.
Escalate data loading failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality issues.
Track vendor issues and monitor progress through resolution.
Assist with system updates, data warehouse changes, and integration-related troubleshooting.
Communicate technical findings and business impacts to relevant stakeholders.
6. Data Governance & Documentation
Maintain documentation for data definitions, reporting logic, test procedures, data mappings, and data warehouse schemas.
Document requirements, workflows, test outcomes, defects, and issue resolutions.
Ensure documentation supports transparency, traceability, and repeatable testing.
Prepare reports and presentations explaining complex data findings.
Maintain accurate records of testing activities, validation results, and project decisions.
7. Medicaid & Healthcare Data Analysis
Analyze Medicaid or Medicare-related operational and analytical data.
Support data validation for eligibility, enrollment, claims, encounters, health plan operations, and clinical quality reporting.
Assist with analysis related to state and federal Medicaid policy and regulatory reporting requirements.
Support projects involving CMS rules, Medicaid expansion, unwinding initiatives, or other legislative and policy implementations.
Help ensure data and reports align with applicable business rules and regulatory requirements.
