Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an experienced System Engineer - Hosting to support USCIS Enterprise Automation & Unified Task Orchestration (eAUTO) contract-delivering 247 IT services that integrate automation, cloud, hosting, and unified communications for 30 000+ end-users. In this role you will beresponsible for leading the day-to-day engineering and operations of critical Windows, Unix, and Linux hosting platforms for USCIS. This role involves direct technical leadership, ensuring high availability, efficiency, and security of the hosting environment through design, implementation, automation, and continuous improvement.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day engineering activities for Windows, Unix, and Linux hosting platforms.
- Conduct design reviews, system integrations, and develop comprehensive as-built and runbook documentation.
- Implement and manage performance monitoring tools and processes to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
- Implement automation solutions, leveraging tools such as Ansible and various scripting languages, to streamline hosting operations and reduce manual intervention.
- Manage storage and virtualization operations within the hosting environment.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to the hosting Integrated Product Team (IPT) to enhance their skills and ensure best practices are followed.
- Ensure high availability and efficiency of all managed hosting platforms.
- Collaborate with other eAUTO teams, including automation and cloud operations, to ensure seamless integration of services.
- Support IT security requirements inherent in the operations and maintenance of requested services.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 10 yrs of experience testing large scale Windows/Unix/Linux environments.
- 10 yrs experience with writing scripts
- Cisco CCNP certification
- Demonstrated experience in engineering, implementing, troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining large enterprise IT infrastructure environments, with an emphasis on Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms.
- Proven experience with automation technologies (e.g., Ansible, scripting) and their application in hosting operations.
- Experience with storage and virtualization software(VMware, vSphere, and Microsoft Hyper-V) on Enterprise IT System.
- Strong understanding of system design principles and best practices for high availability and performance.
- Ability to conduct design reviews, develop technical documentation (as-built, runbooks), and implement performance monitoring
- DHS Public Trust security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with USCIS IT infrastructure and operations.
- Experience with a contract providing IT services to a large government enterprise.
- Experience working on USCIS contracts and mission environments
