Role - Instrument Interface Specialist
Location - Secaucus, NJ(Remote)
This position is a facilitator and a liaison between Business and IT for Instrumentation changes and LIS changes related to instrumentation. This position requires a broad understanding of laboratory instrumentation, middleware utilized for instrumentation, business processes related to validating and processing orders/results, and requirements gathering/documenting concepts. An instrument interface specialist will collaborate with Product Management, Solution Architects, Business Partners, Application Development, and Software Quality Assurance.
Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
Required 5 years of experience in medical lab operations, IT functions, and instrument interface deployments, including direct involvement in clinical interface configuration/maintenance/support.
Exposure to clinical healthcare environment.
Preferred Work Experience:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Availability to provide night/weekend support via on-call on a rotating basis.
Experience with InterSystems based systems, databases, and code such as Cache/Iris
Knowledge:
General knowledge and understanding of operating systems, databases, application development tools, and data processing.
Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Excel a plus.
Experience with multiple instrument communication standards such as ASTM/HL7
Experience with other common data formats such as JSON and XML and SQL preferred.
Experience with Web Services preferred.
Experience interfacing instruments with Antrim based laboratory information systems is highly preferred.
Ability to read/write basic commands in Cache/Iris based systems.
Understanding of Cache/Iris based database systems and their global/class structures.
Experience interfacing instruments via middleware with Epic based information systems is a plus.
Familiarity with support/maintenance of intermediary devices used in instrument communication preferred (i.e., terminal servers, file transfer systems)
