Our client, Airbnb, a leading global online marketplace and technology company, is looking to hire a Senior Security Engineer – Threat Detection & Response for a remote contract opportunity.
Pay Rate Range: $120/hr to $137/hr W2
Responsibilities:
Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents across corporate and production environments.
Perform threat hunting to proactively identify malicious or suspicious activity.
Build and enhance automated security detections and response workflows.
Analyze security logs and datasets using Python, SQL, and other analytical tools.
Conduct digital forensics and root cause analysis following security incidents.
Partner with engineering teams to improve logging, monitoring, and detection capabilities.
Identify security gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen the organization''s security posture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Legal, and Privacy, during incident response efforts.
Requirements:
5+ years of hands-on experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, Detection Engineering, Digital Forensics, or related cybersecurity functions.
Strong experience investigating and responding to security incidents.
Proficiency in Python or another scripting language.
Experience writing SQL queries for security analysis.
Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and Cyber Kill Chain.
Experience automating security detection and response processes.
Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS is preferred.
Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Pandas, or similar security analytics tools is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
