About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to own the development of a Chemical Inventory and Safety System that integrates tightly with our existing LIMS and lab operations stack.

This role focuses on building software that tracks chemical materials, quantities, locations, hazards, and safety metadata throughout their full lifecycle from intake and storage to experimental consumption and disposal. You will work across frontend, backend, and device integrations to ensure accurate inventory state, safety compliance, and real-time visibility for scientists and operators.
You ll collaborate closely with lab scientists, EHS stakeholders, and automation engineers to translate real laboratory workflows into reliable software primitives. Your work will directly support safe experimentation, regulatory compliance, and scalable lab operations

Reason for position:

• Have a large data system for the lab. Relatively contained module and want to hand off to help integrate with our system.
• Primarily around data bases and visualization that is supporting lab operations.
• We have a large system with modules that we want someone to develop and integrate back.
• They don t need to know how to deploy but will have some support

Duties/Day to Day Overview:

• Stand up in the morning
• Task prioritization.
• Coding some design
• Handle scope of work and will have syncs to review periodically.
• Review the systems.

Python + TypeScript and either Angular or React and either AWS or Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

70 percent backend, 30 percent frontend
