ETL Developer

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 12 months

Role Overview

This is a hands-on developer role focused on migrating an application to an in-house ETL tool. The position involves design, building, testing, and deployment responsibilities within an Agile framework. The successful candidate will contribute to the build and implementation of a new application, communicating with business users and solution architects to translate ETL designs into specific development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform core IBM DataStage ETL development for data movement, data quality, and data cleansing.
  • Design, implement, and operate process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction.
  • Troubleshoot ETL process failures and provide technical support for ETL-related issues.
  • Enable teams with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities.
  • Guide teams on design and best practices for high code performance, such as pairing and code reviews.
  • Provide end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation.
  • Create supporting documentation, such as metadata and diagrams for business processes and process flow.
  • Prepare deployment packages, including documentation and DSX/ID exports.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements.
Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Proven ETL experience with tools such as IBM DataStage and Informatica. Experience with Oracle and Teradata databases is also required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with SAP packs and high data volumes.
  • Skills in performance tuning in DataStage or Informatica.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate: $65.00/hr - $68.26/hr.
