Summary

Associate Failure Analysis Engineer - Contract


Location: Acton, MA


Shift: Start time between 6:00-8:00 AM (EST)


Pay: Up to $50/hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Failure Analysis Engineer to support quality investigations and product testing in a regulated manufacturing environment. This hands-on contract role focuses on failure analysis, root cause investigations, and quality system compliance for post-market products.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform product testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations

  • Review device history records (DHRs) and lot acceptance data; identify trends

  • Create and maintain quality records (CAPA, NCR, audits, training documentation)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve inspection and testing processes

  • Support ISO and FDA audit readiness and compliance activities

  • Analyze quality data and generate reports using Excel

  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes and efficiency

  • Troubleshoot new failure modes and recommend corrective actions


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific field (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and technical documentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis

  • Electrical and/or mechanical background preferred

  • Experience in quality, regulated industries (e.g., medical device, lab environment) is a plus

  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, QSR, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies preferred

  • Combination of lab and desk work (sitting and standing required)

  • Occasional light lifting and use of basic tools
