Automation / Controls Technician – PLC | Manufacturing Automation

Our client is located in Norwalk, CT. They engineer, manufacture, and distribute machinery for applying Heat Shrinkable Tamper-Evident Seals and Sleeve Labels worldwide to customers such as Kraft Foods, Johnson and Johnson, Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, and Nestle to name a few. PDC also fabricates both Hot/Air & Steam Shrink Tunnels. They offer competitive pay, good benefits, and a good schedule with half days every Friday!

Pay Rate:

$25 Hourly, with flex DOE

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Previous work with custom mechanical assemblies is a must; 2-5 years prior experience preferred.
  • Working on belt sanding machines.
  • Must know how to turn wrenches.
  • Comfortable working with their hands.
  • Small to medium-sized parts to assemble.
  • Responsible for machine sub-assembly and building.
  • Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving skill set; equipment troubleshooting and evaluation requiring methodical thinking.
  • Ability to read and properly interpret engineering drawings.
  • Will need to read both mechanical assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to wire equipment and panels.
  • Fitting of precision parts with critical dimensions and tolerances.
  • Verify conformance of critical parts with use of precision measurement tools.
  • Marking up engineering drawings as required.
  • Ability and desire to assemble, test, and debug complex electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiently and safely use of hand and power tools.
  • Motivated self-starter; position requires considerable initiative and ingenuity to assemble, fit, and modify custom parts.
  • Will conduct Factory Acceptance Tests with customers. Position requires physical ability to support project tasks ranging from equipment positioning and alignment to equipment skidding and wrapping for shipment.
  • Must be able to lift 75lb as required.
  • Will work with both manufacturing and engineering team.

Pay Rate:

$25 Hourly, with flex DOE

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM (8.5 hour days)
Friday 6:00 AM 12:00 PM (6 hour day)
Overtime offered when needed!
