Network Deployment Engineer

Our organization is in search of a driven and customer-focused Network Deployment Engineer to become a part of our team in Chantilly, VA. This role requires onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement site deployments, which includes scheduling and on-site installation of hardware and configurations.

• Perform site assessments to evaluate network environments, collect user requirements, and document existing configurations.

• Set up routers, switches, computers, and peripherals; ensure the establishment and maintenance of a secure and reliable network architecture.

• Deliver daily IT support across various systems, including client/server/storage/network, focusing on monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.

• Oversee system configurations and documentation, manage hardware procurement, inventory, equipment relocation, and shipping processes.

• Ensure adherence to security protocols and contribute to architectural enhancements through change requests and performance suggestions.

• Be prepared to travel up to 75% within the U.S. and occasionally (5 10%) internationally to conduct deployment activities, surveys, installations, and provide on-site assistance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor s degree with 2+ years of IT experience, or an Associate's degree with 6+ years of IT experience, or a High School Diploma with 11+ years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

• Possession of DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification, such as Security+.

• Must obtain a DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment, such as MCSA, VCP, or an equivalent certification.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server versions 2008/2012/2016/2019; Microsoft Windows 10; managing Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and both workstation and server hardware; administering Microsoft Office 2010/2016; managing DNS, Group Policy, and PKI; overseeing vSphere, Horizon View, data backup, and antivirus solutions; basic networking knowledge including DHCP/TCPIP; experience in deploying workstation images; and familiarity with thin and/or zero clients.

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, or VMware products.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

• Experience with a Service Desk ticketing system, such as ServiceNow.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exceptional skills in managing customer relationships.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience in areas such as hardware/software security, router and switch communication protocols, network management, encryption methods, firewall rule definition, and authentication technologies.

• Familiarity with communication security (COMSEC) policies and their integration.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems, including DNS, Group Policy, and PKI.

• Good understanding of applying security best practices from DISA and/or vendors.

• Basic networking skills.

• ITIL Foundations certification.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess a current/active TS/SCI clearance and be willing to obtain a polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• The individual in this role must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time. Occasional movement within the office is required to access file cabinets, office equipment, or to communicate with colleagues, management, and clients through email, phone, or virtual meetings, which may include delivering presentations.
