About the RoleRedhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to serve as a key leader in securing and maintaining critical government information systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the security posture of vital systems, providing both strategic leadership as a Task Lead and technical oversight as an ISSO. Your work will ensure that our federal clients can operate safely in an increasingly complex threat landscape, making a direct impact on national security and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities - Serve as the primary Task Lead, providing oversight and direction for security-related project deliverables.
- Act as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for assigned systems, ensuring full compliance with federal security policies.
- Provide surge support by filling in as an ISSO for additional systems as mission requirements dictate.
- Lead the coordination of security assessments and authorization activities.
- Advise stakeholders on system security requirements and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all system documentation remains accurate and compliant with government standards.
Required Experience/Clearance - Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
- Possess at least one of the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Security Professional (GISP), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP).
- Candidates may also qualify with other certifications meeting DoD Instruction 8570.1 Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III proficiency.
- At least 7+ years' experience serving as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) at a cleared facility.
- 9+ years of total work experience in a computer science or cybersecurity-related field.
Desired Experience - Familiarity with the use and operation of security tools including Tenable Nessus and/or Security Center.
- Experience using Splunk for security monitoring and log analysis.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Guardium, HP WebInspect, or Network Mapper (NMAP).
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or an IT-related discipline.
- Experience managing small teams or serving in a lead technical capacity.
