Currently, our team is seeking a Senior Db2z Database System Engineer who will be responsible for installation, maintenance, upgrade of Db2z and IBM utilities. This role requires extensive experience in DB2z installation, maintenance, and performance tuning, along with strong skills in scripting languages like REXX and CLIST.0
Expectations for the Role:
- Planning and implementing regular Db2 z/OS RSU maintenance
- Planning, testing and implementing Db2 z/OS version upgrades
- Installation, upgrade, tuning, maintenance, and administration of Db2 utilities on the z/OS platform
- DB2 subsystem performance tuning such as bufferpools, workfile space, coupling facility structures
- On call 24 X 7 support during on call week and weekend support for all maintenance and upgrade activities
- Quick troubleshooting and problem solving for Db2 Subsystem, DBA and Application issues
- Communicating with outside teams to provide guidance on Best Practices for our Db2 environments and tools
- Disaster Recovery planning and testing
- Respond to Audit requests and provide necessary documentation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of hands-on experience as Db2 z/OS system programmer
- 5+ years if experience with Db2z DataSharing group
- 5+ years of experience with Db2 Administration Tools, Query Monitor, and Db2 Omegamon and in-depth knowledge of Db2 utilities such as LOAD, UNLOAD, High Speed Unload, RUNSTAT, REORG, COPY, RECOVERY and SPUFI
- 5+ years of experience with SQL - Intermediate to Advanced experience with zOS Db2 performance tuning
- 5+ years of experience with JCL and scheduling jobs
- 5+ years of experience with 24 X 7 on call support rotation
- 3+ years of data replication design and support skillset in a complex computing environment
- Experience with REXX, CLIST, and other automation tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Strong diagnostic and system dump reading skills
- Strong Experience with zOS large system in Data Sharing Sysplex environment
- Strong Communication skills
- Familiarity with storage administration concepts
- Service Now knowledge
- Db2 Distributed support knowledge
- zOS Db2 maintenance/upgrade support
- Experience with stored procedures
EDUCATIONBachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $185,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
